"He has usurped the opposition"/ Kadilli: Berisha has the obligation

The May 11 elections confirmed the deep decline of the Democratic Party.

Analyst Fatbardh Kadilli, in an interview on "Tirana Live" on ABC News, stated that if the figures that the Democrats themselves voted for had been selected, according to him, the result would have been a little closer.

" If those who the Democrats themselves voted for had been selected, the result would have been a little closer. When they couldn't defeat Edi Rama in 2009, it means that Rama's model is more preferred by Albanians than Berisha's. The chances for Albania to have a political rotation have already been blocked ," he said.

During this interview, Kadilli said that with Berisha's return to the leadership of the DP, the situation will remain the same. According to him, a new alternative is needed in the DP and that Berisha should resign.

" Berisha has the obligation to respect the statute, which named him with the article Basha. In the December Assembly, he recognized Basha's merit, but said that he should leave. But today Berisha must leave in the same way as he asked Basha to leave ," he underlined.

For Kadilli, the Democratic Party is no longer an alternative for Albanians, adding that Berisha has usurped the opposition for personal interests.

" Today, the group of deputies of 50 mandates, where 7-8, let's say, are not from the DP. It is an important number again, Berisha has the ability to radicalize situations, but being a factor is Berisha's need and being an alternative is the need of the Democrats. We do not have a society that has balance mechanisms and rotation is healthier and necessary, but this does not happen with Berisha ," he emphasized.
