The leader of the PL has signed an order from his cell to conduct an internal analysis of where the party conceded in the May 11 elections. Ilir Meta ran on an open list in Tirana and received 7,635 votes, much less than he had promised (40,000 votes). This meant that he did not secure a mandate as an MP.
" Today I signed the order to analyze the results of the May 11 elections for every Voting Unit and Center in the Tirana District to verify the work and role of everyone."
"Once again, I would like to thank with gratitude all those who resisted the extraordinary pressures of the Drug State and did not sell their freedom, their spirit, or their character in the face of a criminal state machine that seriously violated election standards, democracy, and the rule of law, continuing with determination, perseverance, and courage to lead our common battle in defense of major causes ," Meta writes.
But if you look at the order signed by him, it seems as if Meta has suspicions that it was sabotaged from within. Meta wants to see the work of all members engaged in the elections, taking them by name. He also wants to give an account and responsibility for the diaspora, since the PL received very few votes from abroad.
" Each member of the Presidency shall submit, by May 23, 2025, a written report on the electoral activity in the field conducted in view of the May 11 elections, the polling centers where they worked and their results, the personal votes they reported and their reflection in the final result."
Report on personal engagement on voting day on May 11, in the Unit and its voting center, as well as on the following days of vote counting in the Unit and VC taken over.
"Special report by the Secretary for Diaspora on the activity of the Commission established for the verification of voters abroad, identified votes and analysis of the results of votes in the diaspora for the Tirana Region ," the document states.
It is further announced that this data will be presented to the Secretary General, Tedi Blushi, who together with the Chairman of the National Steering Committee, Edmond Haxhinasto and the member of the Secretariat for Organization, Rexhep Ballimi, are tasked with making a preliminary assessment in cooperation with the leaders or heads of units for the Tirana Region. On June 1, 2025, the reports will be analyzed at the meeting of the Presidency, the letter concludes.
