Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj has spoken about the company "Bankers Petroleum", against which the Fier Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations.
MP Jorida Tabaku asked Minister Malaj what measures have been taken against this Chinese company, which has stolen from the state.
"After 12 years, you find out that this company has laundered money? What measures have been taken against the company that has stolen from the state, not only with taxes, but also with resources that this company owns. Has Bankers Petroleum been tolerated for 12 years to have a fiscal invasion? We need information about what is happening," Tabaku told the minister.
Malaj responded by saying that the matter is still under investigation, while warning that at the end of the investigations, the figures involved in money laundering or tax evasion will emerge.
"As for the bank contract, you are very well aware that it was signed in 2004, it is a contract that was revised by you in 2009 with terms that are unfavorable to the Albanian state and it is an issue initiated by this government and the Directorate of Investigative Tax this year," Malaj was quoted as saying in the Assembly.
