The ceremony announcing the National Literature Awards for 2024 has named Enit Karafili as the author with the best work, Romeo Çollaku as the translator of the year, and Anila Mullahi for the best scholarly work.
Besnik Mustafaj, Dhurata Shehri, Elsa Skënderi, Maklena Nika and Fatmira Nikolli, as members of the jury for the national awards, have selected the winners of literature published during 2024. Tradition requires that the jury during 2025 reads the works published the year before to determine the best at the end of the year. Although at the beginning of next year, the national center for books and reading comes out with the names of the best.
The grand prize for literature went to the work "Intimate Epics", while the best translation went to Romeo Çollaku, who conveyed Aristotle's "rhetoric" in Albanian.
Although this year there was no poetry award, as in previous years, or an award for children's literature, there was also an award for the best academic book.
Pedagogist and researcher Anila Mullahi was praised for her work dedicated to the novels of writer Dritëro Agolli.
The ceremony, which is held at the end of each year to announce the previous year's winners in publications, was held this year at the beginning of 2026, also because the National Center for Books and Reading itself is in the process of selecting a new director./ A2CNN
