Oscar and BAFTA-winning actor Gary Oldman was knighted for his long and varied contributions to film and theatre.
The official ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, as part of the King's Birthday Honours, where Gary Oldman was personally honoured by Prince William.
After the award, the famous actor expressed himself "very touched" and emphasized the uniqueness of this distinction: "It was touching. Very touching. We spoke for a minute, but I could barely find my voice. I feel very honored, respected. It's unlike anything else. It's a unique event. I thought the Oscar was something big. Without wanting to underestimate the Academy, but this pales in comparison to this honor. It was really wonderful."
Regarding his conversation with the prince, according to the British Hello!, Gary Oldman revealed: "I was very happy that he was the one who gave me the title. He's a fan of 'Slow Horses'."

Most recently, he impressed as tough MI5 agent Jackson Lam in the Apple TV series Slow Horses, based on the books by Mick Heron.
His notable filmography also includes the role of Lee Harvey Oswald in Oliver Stone's JFK (1991) and the famous Dracula in Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).
