Alis with "Nân" did not repeat the enthusiasm of the semi-final; juries and televoting left Albania out of the Top 10
Bulgaria returns to the European stage with a bang and wins Eurovision 2026 with the song "Banagaranga" by the artist DARA. The grand final held in Vienna ended with a surprise result for many favorite countries, while Albania, represented by Alis with the song "Nân", finished the competition in 13th place.
Bulgaria's victory comes after an aggressive comeback at the festival, with a performance that dominated social media, professional juries and televoting. "Banagaranga" was commented on throughout Eurovision week as one of the most energetic and provocative performances of this edition. European media described DARA as "the phenomenon of this year", while fans on Reddit and Eurovision forums elevated Bulgaria to the list of favorites after the semi-final.
Albania entered the final with high expectations after positive reactions to “Nân”, a song with ethnic motifs and an emotional interpretation in Gheg. Alis secured the final after a strong performance on the second semi-final night, where many commentators considered it among the most authentic performances of the festival.
However, in the grand finale, the atmosphere changed. The European juries favored more commercial performances and spectacular sets. Albania received considerable support from the Albanian public in the diaspora, but the points were not enough to enter the Top 10. Sources close to the Eurovision community commented that the 13th ranking is considered an “acceptable result”, but not the one expected after the enthusiasm created in the semi-finals.
On the stage of the Wiener Stadthalle, Alis performed fifth in line, with a minimalist and emotional rendition of “Nân.” The song was accompanied by dark visual effects and traditional Albanian elements, while red and black flags dominated the hall during the Albanian performance.
This edition of Eurovision was also accompanied by the usual debates about political voting and the influence of regional televoting. There was no shortage of comments on social media that the Balkans were "torn apart" in the votes, while countries like Bulgaria, Greece and Romania benefited more from regional alliances.
For Albania, 13th place remains an average result, far from the historic record of Rona Nishliu who reached fifth place in 2012 with "Suus".

Festivali Evropian është festival i muzikës së lehtë.Kënga "Nan" është baladë epike dhe ishte larg asaj që kërkohet në një muzikëll elegant ritmik rinor!... Duhet kujdes në përzgjedhjen e këngëve... Megjithatë i duhet thënë : Faleminderit Alis...(Nuk më pëlqeu veshja as e këngëtarit me ngjyrë aq të errët dhe as e Raimonda Bulkut...

Kenga nuk pati rrugetimin e duhur pas fitores se festivalit te RTSH. Ne vend qe te zhvillohej me tej nga duar profesionistesh si per sa i perket performances, orkestrimit, kostumografise, grafikes u zhvillua nga njerzit me te paafte te RTSH se te cilet e shoqeruan Alisin dhe ne Vjene. Me zuri syri nje qe tundej dhe i bente xhirime me celular delegacionit shqiptar nderkohe qe RTSH ka videograf qe paguhet vetem per kete por nuk u morr ne Eurovizion se sic duket nuk eshte nga ata te freskut! Nuk funksionoj asnje hallke qe nga momenti qe Alis fitoi festivalin e RTSH. Dhe kjo ishte pasoja.
