
Two people have been arrested by the Shkodra police, after being accused of practicing prostitution.
According to the police, a 23-year-old woman from Brazil was practicing prostitution in a rented apartment on "Kardinal Mikel Koliqi" street, while a 28-year-old man was also arrested.
The owner of the apartment will be investigated at large for the criminal offense of "Maintaining premises for prostitution." As material evidence, the police seized a sum of money and 3 cell phones.
"The Narcotics Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the Shkodra Police Commissariat and the Operational Support Section, in continuation of the work to crack down on illegalities, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Rent House".
As a result of this operation, an apartment was discovered on "Kardinal Mikel Koliqi" street, where prostitution was practiced.
As part of the operation, 2 citizens were arrested and captured in the apartment premises, specifically:
-Brazilian citizen DG, 23 years old, who had rented the apartment and adapted it for the practice of prostitution; -HH, 28 years old. During the procedural actions, gambling activity was documented.
Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen BB, 34 years old, the administrator of the apartment, for the criminal offense of "Maintaining premises for prostitution".
"Under the direction of the Prosecution, work continues to document the case and identify other citizens who may be involved. The procedural materials were passed on to the Shkodra Prosecution for further action," the police announced today.
