At around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, Gilmando Dani, 47, was executed with a barrage of bullets, while Mustafa Sheqeri, 40, was wounded. He is a contract employee of the AMP, who, together with the victim, was returning from a trip to Spain.
The vehicle in which they were traveling, Dani as a passenger and Sheqeri in the driver's seat, was shot at at the Rinas roundabout by 3 executioners, who were waiting for their targets, who suddenly emerged from a Toyota vehicle with foreign license plates.
The scene lasted less than 4 minutes, according to published footage, while at least 80 bullets were fired at the vehicle where Dani and Sheqeri were.
The killers escaped unharmed, while a vehicle suspected of being used by them was found burning not far from the crime scene, several hours after the shooting.
Three days after the incident, the police have focused their search on Fushë Krujë and Nikë, while dozens of hours of security camera footage are in the hands of the investigation team.
Sources from the latter confirm that the footage is being examined in detail as there are suspicions that several people were involved in the serious incident, in addition to an informant who notified the executioners.
It is also suspected that in addition to the executioners' car, at least two other vehicles were involved, so security camera footage along the perimeter of the assassination, as well as on the entrance and exit roads near the crime scene, is being reviewed.
In this way, there are suspicions that in addition to the perpetrators and the suspected informant who notified the perpetrators, there are other people involved, in specific roles, including that of coordinator. Sources say that it is suspected that there was a coordination of all actions before and after the assassination that could have been carried out by one person, while the camera footage is being analyzed to identify any suspicious movements, individuals or vehicles in the area near the place where the assassination was carried out.
It is precisely the security cameras that are considered by the investigative group as the 'strongest weapon' in the hands of investigators to solve the incident, hoping that in the moments before and after Dani's execution and Sheqer's injury, people suspected of being involved in the incident may have 'made a mistake' with their movements, which could lead to their identification.
