New details emerge from the murder of a 45-year-old Albanian woman in Italy. Gentiana Hudhra was stabbed several times by her husband, Nikollaq Hudhra.
It is learned that in 2021, Gentiana had denounced her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, 55, for two episodes of violence during their cohabitation.
However, the Macerata prosecutor's office requested and obtained the closure of the investigation into the case in December of that year. In January 2022, after 20 years of marriage, the couple, married since January 8, 2002, formally separated.
The lawyer who defended Gentian at that time, Guglielmo De Luca, told the media that Nikollaq Hudhra had the fixed idea that she was poisoning him, and had even placed a chain on the refrigerator at home.
"He had the fixed idea that she was poisoning him. At home, he had put a chain on the refrigerator. Before the separation, he had changed the door lock to keep her away. Then, thanks to two requests, he allowed her to return, but forced her to sleep in a small room on a sofa. I told her to leave that man, but she waited because of concern for the children ," her lawyer said.
Gentiana's brother, Artur Kopili, who arrived from Albania in Tolentino after his sister's murder, also spoke about his sister's relationship with her ex-husband, who said they knew about the concerns between them.
"Everyone knew about this situation. My sister had reported her ex-husband several years ago, but no one intervened," he said.
The couple lived in Italy with their two sons, Mario and Samuel, 21 and 23 years old. After a few years in Belforte, they moved to Tolentino. After the separation, Nikollaqi moved about two years ago to Passignano sul Trasimeno where he worked on a local farm.
His employers say he was a punctual employee, but had recently exhibited strange behavior.
"He is a good employee, very accurate and punctual. The work is tiring and rarely does anyone stay that long. Recently he had been exhibiting strange behavior, but no one could have imagined such an outcome. It is unbelievable ," he told the media.
How did the murder happen?
According to the investigation, on the evening of June 14 at around 8:00 PM, Nikollaqi arrived at his ex-wife's house in a pickup truck and stabbed her with an 18-centimeter kitchen knife, causing about ten wounds, and then kicked her.
After the act, the 55-year-old sat on a bench next to his ex-wife's lifeless body, where he was found and arrested by police. In a testimony session, Hudhra admitted to the murder and confessed to having tried to kill his ex-wife twice before. Investigators are trying to uncover the motive for the other murder attempts.
Nikollaqi is currently in solitary confinement at the Montacuto prison in Ancona and a hearing will be held at the Macerata court to confirm his arrest. He is accused of premeditated murder, while he admitted that he had previously tried to kill his ex-wife and explained that he went to the scene of the crime in a monopathie, since she recognized his car.
On the same day, at 12:30, forensic pathologist Antonio Tombolini will be entrusted with conducting the autopsy, to determine the exact number of wounds and those that proved fatal for Gentiana.
