A 30-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by the Carabinieri after being caught distributing cocaine in the city's neighborhoods.
He was followed from Falconara to Ostra, while traveling in a car that was not his.
When he returned to Ancona, Carabinieri officers stopped him for a check on a street not far from the center of Falconara.
The 30-year-old Albanian had a package of cocaine hidden in his underwear.
He was a tourist in Italy, staying at a friend's house. Inside the house, officers found a precision scale and 1,400 euros in cash.
He was unable to explain how he had so much money, given that he is also unemployed. The officers arrested him and notified the public prosecutor on duty, who, however, did not request any precautionary measures, so the 30-year-old was released shortly thereafter.
The Lancia car, which was in the name of a friend of his, was also impounded. According to investigators, he made several trips to Ostra, where he is suspected of taking drugs.
So this morning, Judge Sonia Piermartini confirmed the arrest. The Albanian, represented by Erica Micucci, did not appear at the confirmation hearing, Italian media reported.
He has now disappeared, after the Prosecution had released him. The documents will now be returned to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.
