Another tragic event has occurred in the country. A 16-year-old drowned in the Patoku lagoon this Thursday, after he went in to bathe with his friend the same age. According to police, his friend was pulled out alive and was taken to the hospital.
" Today, on 24.07.2025, at around 15:00, in the Patoku lagoon, two 16-year-olds entered the sea to bathe, passing through the channel that connects the lagoon to the sea. While they were bathing, one of them was pulled out of the water and transported to the hospital for medical assistance, while the other 16-year-old is suspected of drowning and his body has not yet been found.
The services of the Kurbin Police Commissariat and the Border Police are at the scene, and the intervention of the Renea police has been requested to search and find the body. The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident , "the police said.
