The Special Court has issued the verdict for Kristi Bixheku and Artan Tafani, who were tried in a summary procedure for the criminal offenses of "destruction of property with explosives", "providing conditions and material means for committing murder" and "structured criminal group".

The trial panel sentenced Kristi Bixheku to 3 years and 6 months in prison . Due to the summary trial, his sentence was reduced to 2 years and 4 months.

The Special Prosecution had requested 8 years in prison for Bixhek, or 6 years with a summary trial, but he was found not guilty of some of the episodes included in the indictment.

Meanwhile, Artan Tafani was sentenced to 7 years in prison . As a beneficiary of the summary trial, his sentence was reduced to 4 years and 8 months. Later, in his capacity as a collaborator of justice, the Special Court finally sentenced him to 2 years and 4 months in prison .

The decision was announced by a judicial panel composed of Rudina Palloj as chair, with members Atalanta Zeqiraj and Besmir Stroka.

The Special Prosecution Office concluded from the evidence collected that Kristi Bixheku, in collaboration with Laert Haxhiu, Artan Tafani and Erisiano Abedini, planted TNT on two occasions to the detriment of Bujar Turku, one episode recorded on 1.11.2022 and the other on 31.12.2022 in Lushnja.

For the episode related to providing the conditions to commit the murder of Genci Hida, in Lushnja, in the period April-May 2023, the GJKKO declared Bixheku innocent.

While Artan Tafani is accused of having, in collaboration with Laert Haxhiu and Fatjon Veliu, provided the conditions and means for the murder of Rexhep Gina, in Lushnja, on July 6, 2022, at around 9:00 PM.

Based on the investigation acts, it was concluded that the criminal activity of this structured group extended from April 2021 to May 2023, where its leader and organizer was Laert Haxhiu, a person sentenced to life imprisonment for the "Lushnja Massacre", while he is being tried at the Criminal Court for other criminal events.
