The driver of the Audi Q8 that crashed into several cars during a police pursuit in the former Blloku area in Tirana yesterday has been identified.
The driver of the vehicle was Joni Sadikaj, while the passenger was Skerdi Sina, who was arrested by the police yesterday. Sadikaj tried to escape the police by driving away from "Myslym Shyri" towards the former Blloku, where he crashed into several other vehicles.
However, he managed to escape on foot, escaping capture. Joni Sadikaj had been wanted by police since January of this year, for an incident that occurred in Astir, where a girl was held captive.
Police continue to search for him. Passenger Skerdi Sina is under arrest and is being questioned. The case continues to be investigated by the authorities to fully clarify the incident.
The two young men are also identified as friends or cousins of Aleksandër Sadikaj, the young man who was killed in a remote-controlled bomb attack in June 2022 near TEG in Tirana, while traveling in his luxury vehicle towards Memaliaj, where he had also set up an agro-farm business.
What happened on Astir in January 2025:
Five people are suspected of holding 21-year-old Sajma Qordja locked in an apartment. The people wanted at the time were: Skerdi Sina, Ogert Alia, Arnold Jaho, Anduel Alia and Joni Sadikaj. The latter was the young woman's boyfriend.
It was the young girl herself who reported the case to the police, then the incident alarmed the Astir area, because after the report the girl did not open the door, but the intervention of special forces was required to enter the apartment by descending with a rope from the terrace. Inside the apartment were found 2 firearms, a pistol, bottles of alcohol, energy drinks and consumed narcotics, and an identification tool.
