Skënder Nika, who was raped on Wednesday morning near his apartment in the village of Arst in the Fushë Arrëz Municipality, has given his testimony about the incident, indicating that he was attacked by five masked people while returning from work.
According to Nika, the perpetrators wore clothing similar to those of the RENEA forces and initially introduced themselves as police officers.
Nika said she did not understand what happened next, as the perpetrators immediately started hitting her.
According to him, the only conflict that could be linked to the incident is a clash that occurred four days ago with a family in the village over issues related to strawberry cultivation.
"I was returning from work at the HEC. Five people came up to me and told me to stop, police. I stopped them, they were wearing masks and clothes similar to those of RENEA. One had an automatic rifle, the others had rubber batons. I don't know what happened, they just shot me. And I know they told me once not to scream, then the woman came out and they beat her too.
"Four days ago I had a conflict with a family in the village over strawberries. I had the same conflict with them 4 years ago, they accused me of spying. I asked them to swear that I did everything I could that I did not accuse or spy on anyone, but they did not accept it. This is the only conflict," he says.
The incident took place in the village of Arst, where Skënder Nika and his wife, Bardhe Nika, were raped by as yet unidentified individuals. After the attack, the couple was transported to the hospital, where they are receiving medical assistance, while the police continue their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.
