A blitz was carried out by prison operational forces in the Fushë Kosovës penitentiary institutions in Lushnje.
Intensive checks in prisons have been ongoing for four weeks and have begun with the aim of discovering prohibited items inside cells.
During the actions so far, mobile phones, drug doses and other illegal items have been seized.
In one of the most recent cases, the National Bureau of Investigation joined the search of a cell where a drug detainee was being held. According to the report, a phone was discovered hidden in the cell door frame.
The seized phone has been sent for forensic examination, where communications and data stored on the device are expected to be verified. Authorities have not yet provided further details on the results of the operation or the people involved.
