A spectacular chase, similar to scenes from action movies, was recorded this Saturday afternoon in Durrës, where a 35-year-old drunk man in a vehicle without license plates challenged police forces for more than 30 minutes.
According to police sources, it all started when Traffic Police officers signaled the driver of the vehicle to stop for a routine check, but he refused the order and drove away at high speed.
Immediately after this, police patrols and the "Eagle" forces pursued the vehicle, while the 35-year-old drove with dangerous maneuvers on several road segments, seriously endangering other drivers and passers-by.
Media sources indicate that the young man has repeatedly refused to obey police calls to open his arms and stop the vehicle.
The pursuit continued for several kilometers and caused tension in areas where the vehicle was passing at high speed, while officers attempted to block it without endangering citizens.
The operation ended near the Shënavlash area, where the police, in order to avoid more serious consequences, were forced to hit the 35-year-old's vehicle and neutralize it.
Immediately after stopping the vehicle, the young man was handcuffed by the "Eagle" forces.
According to preliminary data, he is suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the pursuit, and several charges are expected to be filed against him, including disobeying a police order, drunk driving, and endangering road safety. The police are continuing procedural actions to fully document the incident.
