A secret report published two days ago by "Ora News" journalist Elton Qyno, which showed the dire security management situation at the Drenova prison in Korça, led one day later to the immediate dismissal of the Prison Director, Fatjon Fasho, and the suspension of the Prison Police Chief, Sokol Kaçoli.
It is learned that Fatjon Fasho has been referred to the Korça prosecutor's office for criminal prosecution on the charge of "Abuse of office", in connection with the commission of actions that have reduced the internal security of the prison and the concentration of the entire Lushnja gang, such as Laert Haxhiu, Orgest Bilbili and Anterio Kaloshit, in a single sector and, moreover, with rooms adjacent to each other.
The transfer of Laert Haxhiu and two gang members to Drenova Prison was carried out by decision of the General Directorate of Prisons.
While the accommodation of prisoners in different rooms and sectors is the direct responsibility of the Prison Director.
All members of the group were serving their sentence in one sector, and were equipped with modern phones, chargers, and Bluetooth headphones.
But the incident of June 29, 2025, where an operational team of the Prison Police found 4 "Iphone-Samsung" phones, chargers and Bluetooth headphones in cells No. 4, 5 and 6, where Laert Haxhiu, Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili are serving their sentences, is just the tip of the iceberg of this scandal.
The problem with this group, which is still unknown as to which official brought them together inside a prison sector, is more serious than that.
This is because a Prison Police service report highlights the introduction of women into the high-security prison in Drenova, on behalf of and in the service of Laert Haxhiu.
One such episode occurred a few months ago, where a girl named Z... showed up at the Drenova prison, requesting a meeting with a convict who is being held in isolation in sector No. 2, Building "A", first floor.
The prisoner who was scheduled to meet was not Laert Haxhiu, but another person. But the service report reveals that the person scheduled to meet by the girl did not show up at the special meeting, but the life-sentenced prisoner Laert Haxhiu.
This incident highlights the introduction of women into the high-security prison in Drenova, on behalf of the leader and members of the Lushnja gang, who, surprisingly and outside of any regulations, have all been concentrated in one sector and in rooms adjacent to each other.
The incident was considered very serious, leading to a clash between the chief of police of the Sokol Kaçoli Prison and the Director of the Drenova Prison, Fatjon Fasho.
After this incident, another scandal with Laert Haxhiu's gang was recorded, where during a flash inspection carried out in the premises of sector No. 2, Building "A", first floor in rooms No. 4, 5 and 6, since in room No. 4 the convicts Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili reside.
A pair of black "AWEI" branded headphones with a case and a white charging plug were found in this room.
Also on the outside between the windows of rooms No. 4 and No. 5, 3 mobile phones were found, 2 "Iphone" brand in good condition and one "Samsung" brand turned on but damaged with a broken screen.
The convicts threw their phones from the first-floor windows into the prison yard after they saw the operational team enter the sector where they were serving their sentence.
To shed light on this matter, the prison police have seized video footage from June 29, 2025, footage that monitors sector 2, 1st floor, Building "A" and the exterior of the windows of Building "A", in order to verify who threw the 3 phones from the window of room No. 4 and room No. 5.
Meanwhile, in room No. 6, where the convict Laert Haxhiu is serving his sentence, a charger, a black "Iphone", a charger and a pair of white "Ipods" headphones were found on the bed.
Immediately after this finding, the Directorate of the High Security Prison in Drenova, Korça, on June 29th made the decision to lock Laert Haxhiu in solitary confinement.
Meanwhile, the criminal cases of Laert Haxhiu, Vladimir Kurti, Anterio Kaloshi, Orgest Bilbili and Xhensi Lipo have been withdrawn and become part of the investigative file.
The prosecution, which is pursuing the case for "Bringing prohibited items into prison", is conducting a series of investigative actions in the hope of finding the person who enabled the supply of telephones to cells No. 4, 5, and 6, where the 4 people are serving life sentences.
Meanwhile, the 4 phones have been examined and will also be sent for computer expertise in the coming days, to learn about communications with other people.
Haxhiu, Orgest Bilbili and Anterio Kaloshi are serving life sentences in the high-security prison in Korça, after all three were convicted of the murder of Jurgen Hoxha and Zamir Latifi, an event that occurred in 2017, in which two other people were also injured.
Meanwhile, against Haxhiu and other members of his group, there are two open court cases at the SPAK special prosecutor's office, the one for the murder of Besnik Hida, where Laert Haxhiu acted together with Orgest Bilbil, Ardian Ahmeti known as "Pepe" and other persons.
While the other file related to Laert Haxhiu is that of serial murders, thefts, and destruction of property with explosives committed in the form of a "Structured Criminal Group", where Artan Tafani has repented. /OraNews/
