A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the Durrës police, while a 40-year-old man will be investigated at large after an operation launched to crack down on the distribution of narcotics and illegal possession of weapons.
According to the police, Sentillano Selami was driving without a license, while in his apartment they found 25 doses of the narcotic substance suspected of cocaine, 50 doses of the narcotic substance suspected of cannabis, 1 pistol firearm with a partial serial number (partially erased), 100 combat cartridges of various calibers, 1 biometric passport in the name of another citizen and 3 mobile phones.
The weapon will be sent for examination to the Institute of Scientific Police, in order to verify whether it has been used in previous criminal events.
Meanwhile, regarding the 40-year-old, officers inform that he will be investigated for illegal possession of cold weapons.
"Following the work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activities, the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Durrës Police Department, in cooperation with the Durrës Police Commissariat, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "Mix".
As a result of this operation, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen SS, 21 years old, resident of the village of Kulla, Manzë, Durrës was made. As well as the criminal prosecution of citizen Rr. K., 40 years old, resident of Kulla, for illegal possession of cold weapons.
The operation was conducted based on information obtained through operational channels, regarding a citizen suspected of distributing narcotics and carrying firearms.
During the search of the vehicle in which the suspect was traveling, in the village of Kullë, it was found that citizen SS was driving the vehicle without a driving license; While in the bag of citizen Rr. K., the Police services found and seized a cutting tool (knife).
Following the operation, during the search of the apartment of citizen SS, in the village of Kulla, the following were found and seized as material evidence: 25 doses of the narcotic substance suspected of being cocaine, 50 doses of the narcotic substance suspected of being cannabis, 1 firearm, a pistol with a partial serial number (partially erased), 100 combat cartridges of various calibers, 1 biometric passport in the name of another citizen and 3 mobile phones.
The firearm will be sent for examination to the Institute of Scientific Police, in order to verify whether it has been used in previous criminal events. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Durres, for further procedural actions, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics", "Unauthorized possession of combat weapons and ammunition", "Unlawful possession of cold weapons" and "Forgery of documents", the police announced.
