Prime Minister Edi Rama commented from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Federal Republic of Germany, on the protest that has been taking place in Tirana for more than a month.
During his speech at the European innovation and entrepreneurship forum "Ruhr Summit", the head of government said that he considers the protest an important signal for his government, emphasizing that he tries to understand the concerns of citizens and not judge it solely by the number of participants.
According to Rama, a government that does not listen to citizens loses the ability to govern. However, he added that the protest, in his assessment, has been influenced over time by actors who have changed its character. He further brought to attention January 21, 2011, when 4 protesters were killed, as he said that on that boulevard where the flamengos celebrate freedom, we had people who were killed.
"I consider it an important message for my government, I am trying to listen very carefully, not by counting people, but by trying to understand the concerns. The Prime Minister's statements were made during his participation in the "Ruhr Summit" forum, where he is on an official visit to Germany and is holding meetings within the framework of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic cooperation.
