President Bajram Begaj has congratulated Ireland, which begins today the six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In a reaction on social networks, the head of state wished success to the Irish Presidency, emphasizing that Albania is encouraged that EU enlargement remains one of the main priorities.
Begaj expressed hope that there will be commitment to advance Albania's membership process in the European Union.
"We are encouraged that the enlargement of the European Union remains among the top priorities and we look forward to Ireland's leadership in moving forward the process of Albania's accession to the EU. We are convinced that the Irish Presidency will make a valuable contribution to strengthening the unity, common values and security of Europe ," writes Begaj.
