Alessandro Bastoni is under investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of the criminal offence of prostitution with minors. The Inter defender's name has been included in a wider investigation by the Guardia di Finanza, which is linked to a suspected network of escorts and the organisation of private parties where, according to investigators, Serie A footballers also participated.
According to the investigation file, the alleged events date back to July 2020, when Bastoni was 21 years old and preparing for his second season with Inter. Investigators suspect that he organized a paid meeting with a girl, who was 17 years and eight months old at the time. As part of this investigation, the managers of the agency that allegedly facilitated such meetings have been placed under house arrest on charges of creating a criminal organization.
According to Italian media outlets "Corriere della Sera" and "La Repubblica", the file also includes conversations held on July 9, 2020 between Bastoni and a person identified as PR Salamone. In one of the messages, the latter writes to the footballer: " I think the minor wants to have sex with you ."
Bastoni, according to the same sources, responds by asking about the girl's behavior: " Was she excited today? Or is she not acting like a ..." while Salamone replies: " I think she'll have fun, but today she's acting gently ."
The file also mentions that a day later the parties had planned a dinner in Cinisello Balsamo. In the reported communications, Bastoni expresses concern about the privacy of the location, asking: " But are there places to hide out there?", to which Salamone replies: "We'll find something, at best you'll take it home with you ."
According to investigators, after dinner the girl went to the footballer's apartment. In the early hours of the morning, Salamone sent Bastoni a message: " Please remember..., friend. Please remember ." He also contacted the girl to make sure of her condition, while she replied: " Yes, yes, everything is fine. I'm at his house, I'm sleeping here." The next day, according to the file, Bastoni wrote to the intermediary: "Everything is fine, Leone ."
The Inter defender is expected to be questioned by Milan prosecutors to clarify his position on the matter.
His lawyer, Salvatore Scuto, has categorically denied the allegations, stating: " I can rule out the possibility that my client has ever had sex for money, much less with minors ."
Bastoni himself has also expressed his innocence through close people, stating: " We are talking about six years ago. At that time I had just joined Inter and I was single. Nothing had ever happened with that girl and I was never aware that she was a minor. Much less that I paid any girl for sex, especially if she was a minor ."
Meanwhile, the Federal Prosecutor of the Italian Football Federation, Giuseppe Cine, is expected to request documentation from the Milan Prosecutor's Office to assess whether the case could have sporting consequences. So far, according to reports, no violations directly related to football activity have been identified.
The investigation continues and, at this stage, the allegations remain under verification by the Italian authorities.
