The General Directorate of Prisons has dismissed the director of Drenova prison and the chief of police of this prison.
The reason for the dismissal of the two officials Fatjon Fasho and Sokol Kacoli was the seizure of a phone in the cell of Laert Haxhiu, a high-security prisoner considered dangerous. For the seizure of the phone, SPAK is conducting investigations by examining not only the device, but also by interacting with other authorities, as there are suspicions that the conversations of the strongman of Lushnja were signaled by wiretaps that are being conducted for another case under development.
Laert Haxhia is considered the leader of a criminal group with members who committed at least 17 events and crimes that were ordered in different years in Albania. However, in the meantime, the investigations also have indications of drug trafficking issues, which have not yet been finalized.
Haxhiu, otherwise labeled as Aldo Bare's rival, was extradited from Greece, while the court has given him a life sentence for what is known as the Lushnja massacre. In this event, Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed and two others were injured, while the target was Xhulio Shkurti, the nephew of the former gang leader of this city.
The other file is the one analyzed by collaborator Artan Tafani, who confessed not only to the ordered crimes, but also how an assassination attempt was planned against the two prosecutors investigating Laert Haxhi, Ms. Metita Selimi and Doloreza Musabelliu./TCH
