A serious incident rocked Elbasan this evening, where a businessman was killed by unidentified persons. The victim is known to be Mondi Mëhallaj, 43 years old. He turns out to be the owner of a gas station on the southern ring road of Elbasan.
From preliminary sources, it is learned that the perpetrators approached the business and then executed Mëhallaj with a firearm inside his vehicle, a 'Range Rover'. The perpetrators then quickly left the scene.
Police have meanwhile arrived at the scene and are collecting evidence and surrounding cameras to enable the identification and capture of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, it is also learned that checkpoints have been set up in key areas of the city with the aim of catching the perpetrators. As for the victim, a 43-year-old businessman, he has a criminal record for distributing narcotics and possessing weapons without a license.
