54-year-old Gjin Nikollaj was arrested in Kurbin for the purpose of extradition to Italy, where he was convicted of drug trafficking and intimidation.
The arrest was carried out by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force as part of the 95th phase of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja", after locating his location.
According to the Police, Nikollaj was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after Italian judicial authorities sentenced him to 7 years and 2 months in prison for the criminal offenses of drug trafficking and intimidation.
The 54-year-old, a resident of Laç, was captured during the operation conducted in Kurbin, while legal procedures are currently underway for his extradition to Italy, where he will face the execution of his sentence.
"The 95th phase of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operations Force."
Sentenced in Italy to over 7 years in prison for drug trafficking and intimidation, the 54-year-old is captured in Kurbin and arrested for extradition purposes.
As a result of the information provided on the location of a citizen declared internationally wanted, the operation codenamed "Operation 95" was immediately organized and finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.
During the operation, DFPO services arrested citizen Gjin Nikollaj, 54 years old, resident of Laç, in Kurbin.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Italian judicial authorities sentenced him to 7 years and 2 months in prison for the criminal offenses of "Drug Trafficking" and "Threat".
"Procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy are ongoing," the police announced.
