Two mafia assassinations, in two different districts, Tirana and Lezha.
An hour and 45 minutes of time difference between the crimes. 50 kilometers of geographical distance. Some suspicious coincidences that seemed to connect the events, to raise even more mystery.
Gjovalin Prendi was killed in the village of Pllanë near his business, less than a year after the mafia execution of his son, Sidorel Prendi, known as Roan Brahimi. Apparently, the elimination of that well-known character of the dark world did not close the chapter of revenge by rivals...
"The case in question, which is supposed to be the saga of a blood feud that may have been going on for 10 or 15 years, is precisely because this chain has not been broken. If this chain had been broken since the first murder, we would be talking differently and we would not be dealing with the second victim," said Ermal Hamataj, a lawyer.
"The motive for those events is revenge and blood feud together. It is a family that has had victims before in 2014, Sidorel Prendi, his aunt's son and uncle's son were executed in 2014 at the Milot Bridge," said Alban Qafa, a lawyer.
Referring to the scene of the assassination and the evidence, 64-year-old Prendi was not afraid of a possible assassination attempt because he was not guarded. He was not attracted by the suspicious vehicle of the assassins and the two people dressed in dark clothes who approached him near the veranda of the bar.
One of them pulled out a gun and opened fire, leaving him dead on the spot while the other stood by. The victim's wife was also inside the bar, but she was stunned and could not react… The perpetrators' vehicle was found burned down in Gjorm. / Inside Story
