The Vlora Court has imposed a mandatory appearance order on Krenar Velaj, the driver of the rubber boat that injured a German tourist in Gjipe.
He was arrested by police after the accident. The incident is said to have occurred outside the safety zone, while the boat driver is accused of causing the injuries. The German tourist was seriously injured, with media sources reporting that he suffered cuts to his lower limbs and arm.
He was initially taken to the Himara hospital and then was urgently transported by helicopter to the Trauma Hospital for more specialized treatment, due to his serious health condition.
Sources indicate that it was the driver of the dinghy who initially pulled the injured man to the shore.
