Tirana Police continue investigations to identify the perpetrators of the robbery of a jewelry store in Kamëz, an event that occurred on Saturday afternoon.
According to investigative sources, security cameras have revealed the perpetrators' movement route after the robbery. They are suspected of having immediately left the scene in the direction of Zallherri, traveling by motorbike and masked the entire time.
During the escape, the perpetrators slipped and fell off their motorcycle, but then managed to escape again.
Investigators say the robbers were carrying jewelry taken from the jewelry store, as well as a weapon that looked like a Kalashnikov, while they were equipped with spacesuits to hide their identities.
Following the incident, police have detained several people with criminal records in the area to verify whether they are connected to the robbery. However, the perpetrators have not yet been identified.
An examination of the scene revealed that gold and silver items were taken, while the investigation team is analyzing the evidence and video footage obtained.
The jewelry store employee was also questioned, and she stated that at the time of the robbery she was in the back of the store and did not confront the perpetrators.
"On 16.05.2026, at around 13:00, in Kamëz, two still unidentified citizens, one of whom is suspected of carrying an object that appears to be a firearm, entered the premises of the jewelry store owned by citizen O. L, and took a quantity of jewelry.
Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services went to the scene, set up checkpoints and are conducting checks of the area.
"The investigative group is working to capture any evidence that will lead to the identification and capture of the perpetrators and the full documentation of the case," the police statement said.
