A person was found dead in the waters of the Mat River, in the village of Zenisht, Mat. The body was discovered by residents of the area, who immediately notified the authorities.
After receiving the notification, police forces and Burrel hospital teams arrived at the scene, which made it possible to remove the body from the river and transport it to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana.
According to preliminary data, it is a male person, about 55 years old. The body will undergo forensic examination to determine the cause of death and confirm the identity.
It is suspected that the victim may be former Republican Guard officer Flamur Kolmarku, who was recently reported missing after losing his memory and leaving his apartment in Tirana.
Authorities are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
