A group of Albanians are suspected of having attacked the home of Italian Aurelio Valiante, who a few days ago shot and killed 25-year-old Albanian Rivaldo Rusi during an attempted robbery of the latter with two of his compatriots.
According to Italian media, they waited for nightfall, approached the apartment carefully and broke a balcony, not to steal, but to look inside and see if Aurelio Valiante was still in the house.
They then silently departed, leaving behind only a clear trace of their presence, signs of damage.
The incident occurred in Foria di Centola, on "Via Carpine" street, the night after Aurelio Valiante and his family moved to a place protected by the police, as they feared threats from Albanians.
Investigators are not ruling out any leads. This gesture could be related to the atmosphere of hatred that has been ignited on social media.
For days, dozens of Albanian users have been sharing revenge messages on TikTok, writing: "We will wash blood with blood," referring to the killing of the young Albanian man while he was trying to steal. The revenge warned on social media may not remain just virtual.
Meanwhile, the investigations of the Vallo della Lucania Prosecutor's Office continue and there are now three suspects. Aurelio Valiante, 58, is accused of murder with a gun; his brother, M. Valiante, 50, is suspected of having helped him hide the body in a wine cask, then disguised with vegetation; and Xhuljan Kurti, 28, an Albanian resident of Acerra, considered one of the Russian's collaborators, currently in serious condition at the "Cardarelli" hospital in Naples. Meanwhile, the third person involved in the robbery is still being sought.
It is learned that an autopsy on the victim's body is still pending. The examination will be carried out at the morgue of the "San Luca" hospital in Vallo della Lucania and will be of fundamental importance for the clarification of the event, in particular to determine whether the Russian was shot in the face or from behind, a key element that could affect the legal assessment of self-defense.
A medical consultant from the victim's family, represented by lawyer Fabio Della Corte, will also be present at the autopsy.
