A young Albanian girl, only 14 years old, has passed away after a tragic event that occurred in the city of Katerini, Greece.
According to Greek media sources, the minor fell from a bridge about 10 meters high, under still unclear circumstances, on Sunday evening.
Immediately after the incident, the girl was taken to the hospital in Katerini in critical condition, but due to severe injuries, she was transferred to two other hospitals in Thessaloniki, first to “G. Gennimatas” and then to “Ippokrateio”. Despite medical interventions, she passed away on Monday evening.
Greek police have launched an investigation to clarify how the fatal fall occurred. So far, there is no evidence to suggest the involvement of any other person or criminal act. Authorities suspect that it is a tragic accident. The event has shocked the Albanian community in Greece and opened discussions on safety in public areas where children move around unsupervised.
