Luciana Koka,

Activist Luçiana Koka, before the start of the 33rd protest in "Skënderbej" Square, spoke about the events that occurred during the morning protest in front of Parliament, where she claims she was hit with pepper spray by State Police officers.

According to Kokaj, she was trying to communicate with police officers to ask them to stop using force against protesters when she was confronted with the use of pepper spray.

The activist said that, although she had the opportunity to cross the fence set up by the police, she chose not to do so to avoid escalating the situation.

Kokaj also claims that, after the incident, she did not receive the necessary assistance from the ambulance. According to her, the personnel did not transport her to the hospital and she later left with the help of MP Endri Kapri.

She also commented on the political statements made after the protest, emphasizing that her participation was voluntary and that it was not funded by anyone. She also leveled accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister Taulant Balla, claiming that protesters were also raped while being escorted in police vehicles.

" I was at the protest. I was trying to talk to the police because they were being violent. One had a pepper spray bottle and fired twice, I told him you can't do that. Another took out a rubber baton. When they threw pepper spray, I was there and the effect was immediate. I couldn't open my eyes for half an hour. I had the opportunity to break the fence, and in order not to provoke violence, I didn't break the fence and to respect the officers. I believe that many have been like me. They committed violent acts. There were women, young girls and elderly people. They should have announced before doing such an act. When I went to the ambulance, there were two police officers. No, they said sit down because there is no room. They put me in the cafe. The cafe was locked. There was another activist there who was affected by the spray. I stayed there for a while until I came to my senses. Deputy Kapri picked me up and took me to the hospital. It's a shame that they care about the police, not the citizens. They provoked violence and the videos showed the violence." Completely unprofessional.

Nobody pays me to come out here. The Prime Minister owes me money for taking my property to give it to a DP MP. I have not received a single lek from anyone or from any enemy of Albania. It shows the level of the Prime Minister, who is denigrating the protest as an example in the EU. For Taulant Balla, there is no greater end in the Albanian nation. Protesters were raped in the police van. I hope they are okay. There are other protesters who were raped, kicked and punched," Koka told News24.
