Tensions in Parliament, protesters with statement: Rama is trying to dirty the
Protesters with a statement

The organizing group accuses the police of using force and guarantees that the rallies will continue every day until the prime minister leaves.

After the strong tensions in the morning in front of the Parliament, where there were clashes between protesters and the State Police, the organizers of the protest have issued an official statement from the podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where the 33rd day of the civic rally is taking place.

The Coordination Group said that the protest in front of Parliament had been announced earlier and was intended to convey the message to the MPs that, according to them, they no longer represent the citizens.

" As we have publicly announced in previous days, today, since there was a plenary session, we decided to be in front of Parliament to tell the deputies that they are not our representatives and that every parliamentary session should be suspended until a later moment, because the people are in the streets. In today's protest, we had announced to the citizens to provide themselves with eggs and flour, with the aim of smearing the deputies who do not represent the voters, but organized crime, the oligarchy and the party leaders ," they declared.

According to them, the incidents began the moment former Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, arrived at Parliament.

" A group of us had gathered earlier near the Parliament and were waiting for the protest to start. At that moment, former Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja appeared, along with his bodyguards. The protesters reacted and were then beaten by Ulsi Manja's private police, with one of the protesters allegedly suffering a broken nose ," the organizers said.

They further accused the State Police of intervening forcefully against citizens, using various means to disperse the protest.

" From that moment on, it seemed as if the police were ready for violence and arrests against citizens. Then, after the arrest of the boys, the protest continued normally. The State Police intervened violently, with rubber batons, tear gas, pepper spray and other means, dispersing the citizens and arresting many of them ," the organizers declared.

In their statement, the protesters accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of trying to change the nature of the protest, which according to them has been peaceful since the start.

" Today showed us that Prime Minister Rama and his criminal state have run out of patience. He is trying at all costs to tarnish this protest, which has been an exemplary protest for citizenship, ethics, creativity and a high level of democracy, " it continues.

Full statement

On behalf of the protest coordination group, we are obliged today, on the 33rd day, to issue this clarifying statement, both for those who are protesting and for those who are following us from all over Albania or the diaspora.

As we publicly announced yesterday, today, since there was a plenary session, we decided to be in front of Parliament to tell the deputies that they are not our representatives and that every parliamentary session should be suspended until further notice, because the people are in the streets.

In today's protest, we had notified citizens to stock up on eggs and flour, with the aim of smearing the MPs who do not represent the voters, but organized crime, the oligarchy, and the party leader.

Thus, a group of us, who had gathered earlier near the Parliament, was sitting in a cafe, where we were waiting for 10:00 for the start of the protest. At that moment, without waiting, the former Minister of Justice, accused of vote buying in Debar, specifically in file 184, Ulsi Manja, appeared, together with his bodyguards. At that moment, the protesters reacted and were then raped by Ulsi Manja's private police, where one of the protesters is suspected of having his nose broken. From that moment on, it seemed as if the criminal police were getting ready for violence and arrests against citizens.

Then, after the arrest of the boys, the protest continued normally, of course with citizens revolted by the injustice that had occurred. This continued until, at one point, the citizens, who were sitting near the Parliament, began to be raped by the Police in an immediate and disproportionate manner. The State Police intervened violently, with rubber batons, tear gas, pepper spray, and so on, dispersing the citizens and arresting many of them.

Today has shown us that Prime Minister Rama and his criminal state have run out of patience. He is trying at all costs to make this protest, which has been an exemplary protest in terms of citizenship, ethics, creativity and a high level of democracy, dirty. At this very moment, we will tell him that this protest is the most beautiful thing that has happened to this country and we will be here until you leave peacefully and civilly.

If your argument is violence, our argument is resistance and perseverance. We do not give in, we do not become like you!

From today onwards we will continue the protest peacefully, on the boulevard until the Albanians win!
