The show 'Në Shënjestër' on 'News24' addressed the topic of violent clashes between criminal families in Albania, with a focus on the recent assassinations against members of the Hajrulla and Sinomataj families.
Excerpts from the show:
Before the explosive attack carried out on Bernard Sinomataj in his 9th floor apartment on 'Sadik Petrela' Street in Tirana, on the evening of December 22, 2024, a similar event had occurred just a week earlier, about 150 kilometers from the capital. This incident, which seems like a clear message about the breaking of the ceasefire and the resumption of the conflict between the old adversaries, took place in the city of Vlora and had Kevin Hajrulla as the victim.
Kevin Hajrulla, a call center employee, would have been unknown to most if not for his surname and the connections he had. This surname is associated in Vlora with one of the well-known figures of the dark world, who are suspected of having taken over the direction of evil deeds after the murder of the previous crime boss in this area.
The assassination of Kevin Hajrulla, who was seriously injured, raised many suspicions of revenge and was closely linked to the clashes between the Hajrulla and Sinomataj families. A few days after the attack on Kevin Hajrulla, the assassination of Bernard Sinomataj in Tirana was carried out with a drone with explosives, thus confirming that tensions between these families continued.
The incident in Vlora occurred on the evening of December 18, 2024, when Kevin Hajrulla had just had a coffee with his friends in a local bar. When he got out and approached his 'Mercedes Benz' car, another vehicle that had been parked for several minutes at the end of the road approached and a hail of bullets was fired at it. It is suspected that the perpetrators had complete and verified information about their target, which is also evidenced by the way the assassination was organized.
In addition to Kevin Hajrulla, a fruit and vegetable seller was also injured, who fortunately escaped without losing his life. Meanwhile, the police confirmed that Kevin Hajrulla, about 30 years old, was seriously injured and was urgently sent to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana. A few minutes after the attack, a car that was suspected of being used by the perpetrators to escape, a stolen car in North Macedonia, a common practice in organized crime, was burned in the village of Panaja in Vlora.
Police investigations are focusing on the victim's family ties and the intensification of the conflict between criminal groups for control of the territory. The bullets that were fired at Kevin Hajrulla's car, 24 in number, show the severity and determination of the assassination attempt to eliminate him.
