Police continue investigations into the murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla, who was executed on Sunday evening near his gas station in Elbasan.
The investigation team analyzed security camera footage near the business and determined that the perpetrators moved several times along the perimeter, carefully following the businessman's movements.
According to investigators, they had accurate information about the 43-year-old's presence and were waiting for him to leave the office.
"The cameras showed that the perpetrators moved several times near the business. They knew the target was inside and waited until he got into his vehicle. At that moment, a suspected black Audi approached and one of the perpetrators, identified as the shooter, got out and fired several times with a pistol. Only one person fired, while the other drove the vehicle, and both immediately left the scene," investigators said.
Camera footage has captured some of the suspected movements of the perpetrators. So far, important evidence has been collected that could help identify them, while several witnesses have provided valuable information to the investigation team.
We recall that the incident occurred on Sunday evening when the 43-year-old was shot as soon as he left his office near his "Xhaxhi Oil" gas station in Elbasan.
As soon as he got into the "Range Rover" vehicle, the perpetrators shot him several times with a pistol, two of the bullets hitting him in the head.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Police has set up a special investigative group, which is working intensively to review video footage of the area and collect other material evidence.
