The Elbasan Court has remanded in prison Nevzat Spaho, suspected of being an accomplice in the murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla.
Judge Elis Dine agreed with Prosecutor Gjergji Ceka, who requested "Arrest in prison" for the 29-year-old, known to the police as a person with a significant criminal record.
Spaho's connections with the businessman from Elbasan are still unclear, but the car that was used at the time of the incident and then burned down near the village of Moraka in Librazhd led to his trail.
Earlier, the court also decided to leave in prison Ghino Ago, partner of businessman Mahalla, also accused of being an accomplice in the crime.
The testimonies of Mahalla's family members about the very good family relations between the two partners seem not to have convinced Judge Elis Dine.
The court also remanded 52-year-old Kujtim Pisha, a father of two children, a guard at the facility near which the incident occurred, in a "prison arrest" security measure, accused of failing to report the crime.
On the other hand, the police continue to work to arrest two wanted persons who are also suspected of being accomplices in the murder.
Mondi Mëhalla, also known as Edmond Hyka, was shot three times in the head on the evening of December 30th, where he died on the spot. Security cameras showed the assassination was carried out by a lone person who then fled in an Audi vehicle towards Librazhd.
