The United States of America celebrates Independence Day today, July 4, in memory of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, a document that marked the founding of the American state.
Through a post on Facebook, Prime Minister Edi Rama described this day as a holiday with special significance for Albanians, underlining the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty and the historical connection between the two countries.
"Good morning and on America's 4th of July, under the majestic shadow of the Statue of Liberty, which is also a special holiday for Albanians, despite the headwinds that have historically wanted to dampen the beautiful energy of this country, I wish you a good weekend," Rama writes.
Independence Day is one of the most important national holidays in the USA and represents the values on which the country was built.
On this occasion, state ceremonies, parades, concerts, cultural activities, and fireworks displays are planned in the United States, with millions of citizens expected to participate.
