A serious accident occurred today in the "4 Shtatori" neighborhood in Dimal, where a vehicle hit an 82-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.
After the accident, the driver left the scene.
The elderly man, Sotir Koraqe, was immediately transported by ambulance to the Berat Regional Hospital. Doctors confirm that his life is out of danger.
Traffic police arrived at the scene and began investigations. Through verification of security cameras from surrounding businesses and homes, as well as citizen testimony, it was possible to identify the vehicle and driver that caused the accident.
The perpetrator has been escorted to the police station and is expected to provide detailed explanations regarding the incident. The police have initiated procedures to fully clarify the circumstances and determine legal responsibilities.
