Governor Gent Sejko has stated that the Bank of Albania will keep the key interest rate unchanged. At a press conference on the Bank of Albania's monetary policy decision-making, Sejko also spoke about the impact that the increase in international prices, especially oil, may have on the Albanian economy.
"The focus of this report was the impact that prices will have on our economy. The increase in oil prices in foreign markets will bring an increase in inflation above the target and a slowdown in economic growth."
"This forecast is based on expectations for a quick end to the war. Uncertainty remains high, and the balance of risks has increased, but the Bank of Albania decided to keep monetary policy unchanged ," Sejko said, among other things.
