During its 13 years in power, Edi Rama's government has left northern Albania out of the focus of major infrastructure investments, creating a significant development gap with the south.
While projects are mainly concentrated in the south, the northern area continues to face a lack of investment, problematic roads, and depreciated infrastructure.
Since the government has not put water on the fire, the European Union has stepped in. The European Investment Bank, through the EIB Global, has made available 50 million euros in financing for the development of infrastructure and basic services in Shkodër, Lezhë and Malësi e Madhe.
The project aims to improve regional roads, urban spaces, public transport and water infrastructure, as well as preserve natural and historical assets. One of the main components is the creation of a direct tourist link between the Albanian Alps and the Adriatic coast, a corridor that aims to exploit the untapped potential of the north.
The EIB representative in Albania, Alessandro de Concini, emphasized that this financing aims to bring infrastructure standards closer to those of the European Union and increase economic opportunities in the region.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Development Fund will lead the implementation of the project, which includes integrated investments in roads, water supply, urban renewal and tourism.
This funding comes at a time when infrastructure in the north continues to be problematic. The Lezhë–Shkodër axis is one of the clearest examples of the lack of intervention, with heavy traffic and inadequate traffic conditions. Beyond the Thumanë–Kashar segment, investments in the north have been minimal, while other projects have been lacking.
In this context, the EU's intervention is seen as a necessary step to promote development in a region that has lagged behind for years, while it remains to be seen whether this project will manage to compensate for the lack of investment accumulated over the years. / Pamphlet

Jugu mbase u zhvillua me shpejt, ose qe te jem saktesisht exact, per vendet qe ne gjuhe internacionale quhen landlocked, ose me dalje detare ( " vuajne mungesen e klimes detare), perfitimi i investimeve do te ishte shume i madh dhe me i shpejte se turizmi ose klima malore. Keto vite u ndertuan fillimisht resorte, shtepi, hotele. " Purgatori i shtrengatave dhe rreshjeve" pastroi rrugen per hapin pasardhes, ate te infrastruktures qe do te lidhte "vendet bashkevuajtese" te mungeses se detit, qe nga purgatori i parave re shkonin ne "parajsen fiskale" te bordellove te jugut. Te kuptohemi, ne "Parajse behet qefini", ku " virgjereshat e TV prostituojne duke sjelle nektare dhe parfume aromatike", perzjere me fekalet dhe azbestin e detit... Ne Veri, perseri do ndjekim te njejten " Ironi te Fatit", sarkazma e BE qe tall te "injorantet e pervuajtuar ( inferioret), dhe kerkojne nje bilete per ne parajse". Por kjo bilete, cuditerisht eshte e lire! Po perse kaq lire??! ( Chip)??! ..... Duke u rikthyer shekuj perpara, ndarjes se principatave, principata e Venedikut, kapte pjesen me te madhe te Veriut. Por Edi eshte nga Jugu dhe principata e Jugut nuk mund te financoje principaten e Veriut... Me prejardhje nga Venediku, une do te sugjeroja qe katet e 5 dhe 7 te kulles me bustin e Skenderbeut qe " unifikoi principatat inferiore te shqiptareve" ne qender te Tiranes, te investojne per paketen e maleve..
Po Veri eshte vetem Shkodra? Po Dibra fshatrat e te ciles jane pa rruge, kanale vaditese, uje te pijshem,? Mati, Kukesi e Mirdita? Apo lobojnevt3j Rama Tom doshi e topalli per interesat e tyre dhe te njerezve te tyre?! Varileshtokracia!
E turpeshme lenia pas dore e rrugeve te veriut.Po vjen vera dje per te shkuar nga Tiana ne Shkoder duhen me shume se 6 apo 7 ore. Ai i gjati thote pastaj se paska gjak Shkodran.Kjo vetem se Shkodra eshte demokrate.
