Political chaos is not only being seen in Sali Berisha's opposition, where departures and fragmentation have become daily occurrences. A situation of trauma and frustration is also being felt strongly within the Socialist Party. This situation is evident not only in the socialist base, where chaos reigns, but also in the party's higher structures.
The Socialist parliamentary group has never met since the constitution of the new Parliament. Edi Rama boycotted the meetings at the beginning of the week, while Taulant Balla has not managed to gather the deputies in a single meeting.
In the parliamentary committees, clear signals of internal dissatisfaction are being given. Erion Braçe attacks the new Minister of Agriculture and through him the government; Fatmir Xhafaj mocks the new director of RTSH, Eni Vasili, appointed by the prime minister's inner circle; while in the corridors, there are scuffles, clashes and boredom.
These tensions have also erupted on social media. Former MP Piro Lutaj openly targeted Erion Braçe, after the latter's critical statements in the Economy Committee against the Minister of Agriculture. Initially with irony:
"Aman, appoint this eggplant specialist as Minister of Agriculture for once, because he opened our stomachs."
But then with a more direct blow, which Brace read as an attack ordered "from above":
"Yes, he was the deputy prime minister, brother. He shone with his cap on his head when he checked for shortages and delays in Customs and Taxes."
Erion Braçe reacted harshly, calling his former colleague "ignorant" and "a scoundrel", closing with a message that implies deep dissatisfaction with the party's leadership:
"Their bellies are really swollen, but no one can open them because of the foul smell coming from above."
Meanwhile, the situation at the grassroots level is even more chaotic, especially in Tirana, where structures are disoriented and clashes are open. The old socialists accuse the “elders” of the suburbs, brought by Berisha to the SP, of property abuses.
These individuals, once expelled by Erion Veliaj, were reactivated by Blendi Gonxhe on May 11, producing open revolt.
In Vlora, the abandonment of voting in the partial elections was not a matter of indifference, but a deliberate boycott of the structures towards the center, that is, towards Rama himself. The political group that gravitates around Gramoz Ruçi has spread throughout the base with the idea that the "tall one" is leaving Vlora in the hands of the DP.
The internal thermometers of the Socialist Party have risen. The calm that Rama seeks to project does not match reality: the Socialist Party is experiencing an accumulated tension that is exploding at all levels, from the Assembly to the grassroots, from the committees to social networks./ Pamphlet
