US President Donald Trump has reacted to the passing of Ted Turner, calling the CNN founder "one of the greatest in the history of television."
In a public post, Trump paid tribute to the businessman and media pioneer, noting that Turner created one of the most influential networks in the world.
He stated that CNN changed significantly after the sale of the company by Turner, adding that subsequent executives damaged its image and credibility.
Trump also expressed hope that current media leaders will be able to restore the reputation that, according to him, CNN had during the period when it was run by its founder.
The American president also emphasized his personal relationship with Turner, describing him as a man willing to support humanitarian causes and positive initiatives.
