A US proposal to end the war with Iran is still being considered, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghae told the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA).

In an interview with ISNA, Esmail Baghaei says Iran is sharing its views on the US proposal with Pakistani mediators.

In a post on X citing the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Baghaei said that the concept of negotiations requires at least a sincere attempt to engage in discussions with the aim of resolving the dispute.

"So, 'good faith' is needed, which means that 'negotiations' are not 'disputes'; nor are they 'dictation', 'deception', 'extortion' or 'coercion '," he adds.

Meanwhile, a senior member of the Iranian parliament has dismissed US media reports of a deal to end the war with Iran, calling them an American "wish list" and not a reality. According to a report by the US news agency Axios, published earlier today, the White House believes it may be moving closer to a 14-point memorandum of understanding with Iran.

Responding to the report, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Iranian Parliament's national security and foreign policy committee, says the US will not achieve through a failed war what it failed to gain in face-to-face negotiations.

"Iran has its finger on the trigger and is ready. If the US does not surrender and make the necessary concessions, Iran will give a harsh and regrettable response ," Rezai said in a statement published in X.
