Prince William, Princess Kate and Jeffrey Epstein

Prince William and Princess Catherine have spoken publicly for the first time about the new revelations about Jeffrey Epstein. In a statement from Kensington Palace, it is said that the Prince and Princess of Wales have expressed "deep concern" about the latest information published in the United States and that their attention remains focused on the victims.

A royal spokesman confirmed that the statement comes in light of new documents relating to the late sex abuser, which have brought international attention back to his links with public figures.

The latest developments have once again increased scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has faced criticism for years over his former relationship with Epstein. Last week, he moved out of his residence at Royal Lodge, Windsor, ahead of schedule. Buckingham Palace had announced that his departure was scheduled for early 2026, but according to British media, this process has been accelerated. He is currently reported to be staying at King Charles' private Sandringham estate.

Mountbatten-Windsor has admitted to having a long-standing friendship with Epstein and maintaining contact with him even after the American financier was convicted in 2008 of a sex offence against a minor. He has apologised for his past relationships but denied any wrongdoing.

The documents recently released in the US also include images that reportedly show Mountbatten-Windsor in a compromising position with a woman. There is no context given for the photos and it is not clear when or where they were taken.

The documents also appear to confirm the authenticity of a famous photograph of Mountbatten-Windsor with Virginia Giuffre, who has accused him of forcing her to have sex with her as a teenager. He has consistently denied the allegations, and in 2022 reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre, without admitting responsibility or apologizing.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed they are assessing new allegations reported by the BBC, according to which a second woman claims she was brought to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Mountbatten-Windsor in 2010 at the Royal Lodge residence. The woman, who is not a British citizen, was in her 20s at the time.

The Kensington Palace statement does not mention Mountbatten-Windsor directly, but comes at a time when developments surrounding the former prince risk overshadowing other royal engagements. It was released as Prince William was preparing for an official visit to Saudi Arabia, considered a diplomatically important one.
