
Air traffic at Brussels Airport was "paralyzed" at around 8:00 PM as a security measure following a report of a drone.
This was announced by Skeyes, the Belgian air traffic control authority. Shortly before 8 p.m., a drone was reported flying over the airport, Skeyes spokesman Kurt Verwilligen explained, as quoted by the Belga agency.
" As a precautionary measure, all air traffic has been temporarily suspended ," he added.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, several flights destined for Zaventem were diverted, particularly at Liège Airport.
Nieuwsblad reports that the last flight departed Brussels Airport at 19:37, and the incoming flight landed at 19:46.
