Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israel and the United States share the same approach regarding Iran's nuclear program.
In an official statement, Netanyahu reiterated his determination to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, stressing that "as long as I am prime minister of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons."
He added that there is "complete agreement" between him and US President Donald Trump on this issue, describing cooperation between the two countries as important for regional security.
Netanyahu also recalled that for more than three decades he has been engaged in efforts to oppose the Iranian nuclear program in the international arena.
According to him, in the absence of this constant pressure, Iran would have long ago secured nuclear capabilities that could be used against Israel.
The Israeli prime minister repeated accusations against Tehran that it aims to destroy Israel and declared that he has "dedicated his life" to preventing such a development.
In conclusion, Netanyahu reaffirmed that while he leads the Israeli government, Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
