Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reacted harshly to protesters who are protesting against the holding of the Winter Olympics.

Meloni, in a harsh message, states that thousands and thousands of Italians, in these hours, are working to make everything work during the Olympics.

"Many of them do this as volunteers, because they want their nation to be presented well, admired and respected. Then there are those: the enemies of Italy and Italians, who demonstrate 'against the Winter Olympics', causing these images to end up on televisions half the world over," says Meloni.

The Italian Prime Minister then dwells on several incidents that have occurred, while expressing solidarity with the police forces.

"Some have cut the railway cables to prevent the departure of trains. Solidarity, once again, with the Forces of Order, with the city of Milan and with all those who will see their work wasted by these gangs of criminals," Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote on social media.

The president of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, has also commented on the events in Milan.

"I express my closeness and solidarity with the Law Enforcement Forces, which, once again, are faced with clashes and aggressions by some protesters.

"Those are scenes no one would want to see, violent acts that must be condemned without any 'ifs' or 'buts.' A hug to all those who are committed to the success of the Games and who must also face these absurd situations," he said.
