Maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to its lowest level since May, according to shipping monitoring data. Many ships have stopped moving or changed course after recent Iranian attacks on ships and the resumption of the US blockade.
Yesterday, only three cargo ships transited this strategic waterway, which represents the lowest number of transits in recent months.
The sanctioned tanker Miraan, engaged in the transport of oil, as well as the Norita, a small ship carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), exited the strait through the Iranian corridor, but then stopped in the Gulf of Oman.
Meanwhile, the Arolia, a tanker for supplying fuel to ships at sea, changed course and returned to the Persian Gulf just hours after leaving the strait.
The attacks, on the other hand, continue. The Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that the death toll from the latest US attacks on Iran has risen to eight.
According to IRNA, the attacks that hit several provinces of the country also left 20 people injured. The report reflects the position of Iranian authorities and has not been independently confirmed.
