US intensifies attacks on Iran, Iranshahr airport, strategic bridge and communications infrastructure hit
The United States has expanded military operations against Iran, launching a new wave of attacks on strategic targets in the south of the country. Iranian media reports that US warplanes have hit Iranshahr airport, a key bridge in the Bandar-e Khamir region and a telecommunications tower in Bandar Abbas.
According to the Iranian Tasnim agency, US aircraft fired missiles at Iranshahr airport, while Washington had earlier announced the launch of a sixth wave of attacks against Iran.
Meanwhile, Fars news agency reported that a bridge in the Bandar-e Khamir region was hit at around 11:00 p.m. local time. According to Iranian media, the bridge is an important road link between Bandar Abbas and Lar, making it a strategically important target for the movement of people and supplies.
Another attack, according to Tasnim, hit a communications tower on a hill near the port city of Bandar Abbas, causing a power outage in the area. The agency added that at least seven people were wounded in the US strike.
The latest attacks show the expansion of US operations against strategic Iranian infrastructure, as the clash between Washington and Tehran continues to escalate, raising fears of an even wider conflict in the region.
