David Barral, a former senior executive at insurance company Aviva, has died in a serious car accident near Wetherby, West Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom.

The 63-year-old was driving an Aston Martin DBX SUV when the car left the road and crashed into a tree, then burst into flames.

The accident happened on Tuesday, at around 2pm, on the A58 Leeds Road, between Bardsey and Collingham.

During his 30-year career, Barral held important positions in the financial industry, including CEO for the UK and Ireland at Aviva, as well as management positions at Virgin Wines, Embark Group, LV and most recently as a strategic advisor at Harwood Capital.
British police are continuing their investigations and have appealed for potential witnesses to the incident.
