To continue the plunder of public land and land areas on the coast, in Tirana, Durrës, Vlora, Saranda and wherever builders connected to the power structure have interests, Prime Minister Edi Rama is implementing a project called "Pieces".
This project is another scheme of extortion of assets, through the guise of a public-private partnership, according to which, those builders who have land and plots of land have the right to take state-owned land that they have annexed, in exchange for construction land there or in other areas.
These state lands and plots that have begun to be given to private individuals are called "pieces", regardless of their surface area, because that is how they were classified in the "Pieces" project that Edi Rama devised and approved by government decision.
The next "piece" that is ready to be given to private developers is the Border Post in Dhërmi, with an area of 1800 m² by the sea, in one of the preferential areas for hotel investments, with the justification that the private sector will finance the "Public Services Center in Palasa".
Prime Minister Edi Rama has entrusted the implementation of the "Pieces" project to the Director of the Albanian Investment Corporation, Elira Kokona, the "hand" who signed the theft of thousands of square meters of state-owned land and plots.
Under the guise of reviving the stadiums of Durrës, Korçë and Vlorë and the "Selman Stërmasi" stadium, the "Asllan Rusi" sports palace, the Palace of Congresses, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency, the Cadastre building and the new buildings of several institutions, director Elira Kokona has signed the donation of 320 thousand m² of "pieces" of state-owned land, where private individuals will build towers and palaces.
"Copëz" was the name given to the 262 thousand m² area of the Antenna Center in Xhafzotaj, which Prime Minister Edi Rama took away from the Albanian Radio and Television and, under the signature of Elira Kokona, donated to the "Agasi" group for the alleged activity of "Durana Tech Park".
"Copëz" was also called 2600 m² of land belonging to the Republic Guard near the Artificial Lake of Tirana, donated for tower construction to the company "X-One sh.pk" of Ylli Ujka and Ilir Trebicka, with the justification that they will finance the premises of the National Library.
Through the "Pieces" project, Prime Minister Edi Rama, through the Director of the Investment Corporation, Elira Kokona, donates to private individuals areas of state land that border private properties; in exchange for which, the state says it will receive areas of premises in those buildings, or in other areas and cities.
Meanwhile, through another project, "Hospitality Albania", government residences in Saranda, Vlora, Shkodra and Dajt, and the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha in the center of the former Blloku, have been given to private individuals.
